Shiloh + Jeremy

Hello! We are Jeremy and Shiloh  and we want to thank you for the opportunity to get to know us and by the end of this letter you will get a sense of how incredibly important a family is to us.  Although we can’t imagine how difficult this decision is for you, we are humbled by your courage and strength in choosing adoption for your child/children.  We hope that while you are reading the profiles and have decisions to make, that you find peace in knowing that your gift of family is amazing and that you are fulfilling the dreams that many of here could not do for themselves.

I (Shiloh) grew up in a small farming town in Missouri and moved to California in 2004 where a year later I met Jeremy who is originally from  New Mexico. We had an instant connection and began dating but only briefly, we remained friends for a couple of years, unfortunately, life took us in different directions and we lost contact for a few years.

Thanks to Facebook we reconnected and never looked back.   We have been married now for eight years.  Jeremy and I have faced many challenges over the years including infertility, these things have only made us stronger and we know we can get through the toughest of times side by side. We recently moved to Idaho with our four dogs to get away from the hustle and bustle of California.  We live in a great community, right across the street from a beautiful park.  We also own 13 acres of land where we are going to start the building our dream home this year.  We can’t wait to have horses, goats, chickens and a beautiful garden on our property.  We feel this will be a great place to raise  our children and give them so many life adventures.

Jeremy is a fire captain in southern California, he has been with the fire department for 14 years.  Before that he was in the military, he served in the Army for 4 years then spent 6 years in the Navy as a search and rescue swimmer. He loved serving our beautiful  country and really misses it but now he says he help people in a different way and really make a difference in their lives.

Jeremy is the most kind, selfless, giving man I know and he will be the most amazing father to our children. Even though her travels for work, it will give our kids and I the ability to go with him to California and spend time at the beach and frequent Disneyland while he is working.  I am a huge Disney fan so I can’t wait to share that with our children.  It will also allow for our children to visit him at the station and see what gets to do for work.   I am a real estate agent; this allows me to have a flexible schedule so I can be home and raise our children.

We spend most of our free time together, we prefer to do everything we can together and really enjoy each other’s company.  We love to laugh and don’t take ourselves too seriously.  We are both very active and love anything  that involves being outdoors.  Our summers are spent hiking, camping, riding bikes, fishing, swimming, taking our boat out and BBQing with friends.

During the winter we love to go skiing/snowboarding, snow tubing and just taking drives into the mountains to play in the snow.  We try to spend as much time outdoors as possible.  The great thing about Idaho is that there are endless activities year-round and we can’t wait to explore all of them with our children. As much as we love being outdoors, we also enjoy cuddling with our fur babies on the couch and watching movies or football.  Jeremy is a huge football fan so football season is always a big deal in our home.

Traveling is one of our biggest passions.  We love to jump in the car and go for a drive and discover new things and places to explore.  The Caribbean is one of our favorite places to go.  If we are not in the water snorkeling around the reefs then we our out touring the islands and learning about the different cultures.  Our future plans include trips to Ireland, Scotland as well as exploring our beautiful country.   We look forward to traveling with our children so they can be exposed to different cultures and to see the world through their eyes.

We both come from big families and want our children to the feel love and closeness that we both have with our families.  My family still lives in Missouri, Jeremy’s family is mainly in Arizona except his mom that now  lives in Idaho.  We have a close group of friends that live near us that we consider our family, we spend most of our time with them and their kids whom we love as our own.  A big part of our family is our dogs whom absolutely love our friends' kids.  They get so excited when they come to visit, they are by the kid's sides at all times whether it’s snuggling on the couch playing outside or rolling around on the floor with them. We want to create a loving foundation for our children to grow and continue family traditions we already have and also create new ones with them.

Jeremy and I want to give our children every experience possible to help them succeed and grow as individuals.  We feel that a child not only needs and academic education but a moral and ethical one as well.  We want to raise our children to not only be kind and respectful but to know that things don’t always come easy and you need to work hard and earn the things you want in life.  We are not set on sending our children to private, public or home school; we want to choose whatever avenue that will enable our children to succeed to their highest potential.  Though we do not belong to any organized religion, we plan to raise our children to have an appreciation for all religions and be kind and accepting of everyone else’s beliefs.  Above anything, we want our children to know that they can be anything or anyone they want to be and that our love for them is unconditional.

Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about us. We want our children to know the love you have for them and what a blessing you have been to our lives.  We pray for love, strength and peace for you during this journey.
