Esther & Samuel
Hi There!
We are super excited as we look forward to the arrival of our new baby! It’s hard to wait, but in the meantime we dream. The kids have been crocheting things for their baby sibling and eagerly keeping tab of the adoption journey!
Samuel and I:
When Samuel and I met in 95, I was taken by his warm, genuine manner as he introduced himself. We were married in the fall of 99, and our love and appreciation for each has grown stronger through the years. We enjoy doing things together, whether on a Friday night date or on an anniversary excursion. We are very committed to each other, and along with that, we believe belonging to a family who adores you, champions the gifts in you and loves you for who you are, is the best way for a child to grow up!
About Esther from Samuel:
When we first met, I was drawn by her quiet and sweet personality. She is one of the most generous and caring people I know. She is very nurturing and cares deeply about the needs of her family- whether physical, or emotional. I appreciate her focus to ensure our children are healthy and happy.
About Samuel from Esther:
Samuel brings so much laughter and calm into our home. He is a natural when it comes to being a dad, and our children adore him. He was there during times of tummy aches as infants, and he’s always been greeted with so much excitement and joy when coming home from work. That has only increased as the children grow up. He is a “present” and interactive dad, whether that is playing with them or showing them how to do something.
I love how he cares about teaching and modeling values of life.... like how to treat people with kindness and respect, how to be on time and the importance of keeping your word, etc. He occasionally takes the kids out for a treat and to spend time with them. Sometimes he’ll take the boys fishing, hiking or to a park, etc. It’s his way of ensuring them he sees them, and loves and cares about them as individuals.
His sense of humor creates lots of laughter....and When there’s anxiety or sadness, his perspective and hugs bring peace and comfort. I deeply appreciate his strength in keeping family first and his leadership in ensuring we’re always doing fun things together. His presence is a steady strength in our home.
More of our story:
When we first started off, we talked about having 5 kids and we also talked of adopting someday. It was something on both our hearts.
As we set off to start our family, we had trouble getting pregnant and had some miscarriages which was heartbreaking. After a few years of trying, we were eventually blessed with 3 little ones and we couldn’t have been more delighted!
We never forgot our dream to add to our family through adoption and In 2013, I (Esther) was on a mission trip to Nicaragua, and while visiting an orphanage, met a little boy named Abraham. He was small for his age, a little grimy (like all the rest!) and gave tight hugs! I felt drawn to him as if he was being highlighted and wondered if he was the one that was meant to join our family. Long story short, 2 years later, our family went to Nicaragua to bring him home!!
He is now our amazing 14 year old who graces our home with his laughter, eagerness to fix things, and love of plants and animals...I could go on and on about him and each of our kids and the unique personalities and gift mix they bless our home with! And that brings me to the dream we all carry in our hearts- and that is to add another little one to our family!
To say we are excited is a vast understatement. There is so much anticipation by all of us to welcome home a little one into our family who we know will be absolutely adored, as well as welcomed and loved by our extended family.
We have a large extended family and are blessed to have both sets of grandparents, who love doting on their grand-babies. We get together once or twice a year with out-of-state family, and frequently with our family who lives in town. The holidays are a favorite time of the year for us. We enjoy the fall vibes and then decorating for Christmas together while drinking hot cocoa and listening to Christmas classics. The kids make forts by the tree every year on Christmas eve!
Rita is a junior in high school, loves lettering and all things vintage. She carries a sweet inclusive vibe that makes people feel valued in her presence. She loves nature & animals, piano and creating comfortable spaces! Renee is our social butterfly and “Belle of the ballroom”. She is creative and expresses it through dance, culinary, painting and drama. Abraham is our sunny, highly athletic and artisitcally talented son. He loves to play soccer and basketball. He also enjoys sketching, singing and piano.
Shane is our love bug and has a great sense of humor along with a wealth of knowledge on most subjects. He enjoys reading-esp. About outdoor survival. He & Abraham are the best of friends! Samuel is a skilled builder & great dad who’s passionate about passing good character & problem solving skills to his kids. I love being a mom; I enjoy cooking, gardening, creativity, and researching health.
As adoptive parents for the second time, Samuel and I look forward to raising this little one with the same love, and celebration that has been the standard in raising our children this far. Our desire and endeavor is to support them in their efforts and dreams as well as through any challenges life may bring; to champion them in the direction of their talents and aspirations while providing a solid foundation of strong identity and character.
We are committed to our children’s success as they grow; and it’s a great joy to see them flourish in all stages, having the security of knowing they have a place only they can fill; a place of belonging in our family throughout life.
We value education, Our kids all attended a private school through eighth grade, after which we sent our oldest to a great local high school. Our second daughter opted for a charter school, since she wanted flexibility to pursue some other classes.
Some of the things we value include doing things together as a family and having fun- from telling jokes and playing board games to traveling, movies, or other local excursions. We enjoy hiking, biking, fishing, and playing at the lake. Every year we go camping somewhere and usually take a few road trips to see extended family in Montana or visit a national park or beach. Last year, we traveled to Nicaragua to visit Abraham’s birth country which we’ve fallen in love with. When it comes to movies, Our all-time favorite family show is the Mayberry show called The Andy Griffith Show! We value our friends and community and draw strength from those relationships.
We value a work ethic as well and help each other with household, garden, and animal care chores. We live in a country neighborhood, minutes from town on a 1 acre mini farm, with goats chickens, and pets of the kids choosing.
We deeply appreciate your consideration to choose us to raise and cherish your treasure; to believe in your child’s dreams, and be there for your child always. We will only ever speak with honor and love of you, the birth parent. You have our utmost respect and compassion in making what must have been an incredibly hard decision in order to give your child a good future and a blessed life. You are, and will always be in our prayers.
With love,
Esther and Samuel
