Dear Expectant Parent,

Thank you for taking the time to get to know us a bit via this profile. We cannot assume anything about what you’re going through because we’ve never been in your shoes, but we believe your willingness to consider adoption for your baby is one of the most incredible sacrifices of love we can imagine. As adoptive parents, we’re honored to be considered and would do our best to make sure your baby knows that out of love for him or her you chose the path of adoption.

About Us

We’ve been married for a little over 4 years and have experienced a lot in that short amount of time. We’ve traveled and seen some beautiful places, spent a lot of time making memories with people we love, and have also experienced the heartache of infertility and miscarriage. Through it all though, we’ve grown closer and are able to look back and find a lot of things for which to be grateful. We’re so excited about the prospect of growing our family through adoption, as are our friends and extended family.

We are very close to our families even though they’re spread out across the country. Both of us have parents who have been married for almost 40 years and we look to them as examples for our marriage. Our siblings are all married with children, and many of our trips are geared toward seeing our 14 nieces and nephews (don’t tell their parents!). Beyond that, our parents are all from families of 5 or more children, so we’ve been blessed with many many uncles, aunts and cousins.

All these people are thrilled at the thought of having a new baby to love and dote on.

We love entertaining and opening our Southern California home to family and friends. It’s not uncommon for our friends’ kids to come swim or spend the night, and we have frequent out-of-town guests because Amy is originally from Chicago. Our two “fur babies”, Emmie and Zoey, think all the guests are there just to play with them, and we can’t help but chuckle when they put their ball by a sleeping baby expecting a game of fetch.

In our free time we enjoy spending time by our pool with friends and family, trying new restaurants, going for walks and hikes with our dogs, hosting dinner parties, planning our next travel adventure, and working on projects around the house together.

About Amy by Joel

I love Amy for her big, ambitious personality! When we first met, the first thing I noticed about Amy was her laugh. She has one those laughs that lights up the room and makes everyone smile! She gives 110% to everyone and everything she loves. Amy instantly becomes “Auntie Amy” to all of our friends’ children. It makes me smile when we arrive at our friend’s home, and all the kids run out the door (right past me) yelling “Amy’s here!” She loves to cook and spoils friends, family, and neighbors with her delicious food. Our two little dogs are so well loved by “mom” that I’m sure they think they’re people.

Not only is Amy a lovable and loving person, she is a great teacher and a hard worker. Amy teaches music lessons from our home and helps out part-time in my business doing bookkeeping. I’m so proud of how hard she works for our family and everyone she loves. She’s looking forward to the day that she can retire from being a bookkeeper so she can be a stay-at-home mom! I can’t wait to see her be an amazing mom - it’s the only job she’s ever wanted.

About Joel by Amy

Summer-2016-compressor.jpg

Joel is one of the kindest, most insightful people I know. The first time we met I remember listening to him talk and thinking to myself, “This is a good one.” He’s smart. His ability to consider all the aspects of a situation and come up with a kind, wise, thoughtful solution is a blessing to me. And, while I may be the one our friends’ kids run to first, he’s the one you’ll find on the floor in a pile of kids and Legos helping them figure out which pieces go where. He also has a talent for telling corny, punny dad-jokes - a talent he shares with his cousins. Needless to say, family gatherings are filled with a lot of laughter.

Joel owns his own accounting firm, and it has seen rapid growth under his capable hands. He’s incredibly hard-working, and I’m grateful for how well he provides for our family. I find it inspiring that he’s more concerned with being good counsel to his clients than he is about any other aspect of the business. He’s conscientious and cares a lot about taking care of the people in his life. Joel also frequently spends time helping our church community by serving on various committees and teaching Sunday School.

I already know and love Joel as my husband. His patience, wisdom, kindness, leadership, and many more wonderful qualities will make him an incredible father. I can’t help but smile when I think of him pushing a stroller or walking around with a kid on his shoulders as we experience life as a growing family.

Our Prayer for You

We would guess that you never expected to find yourself looking for adoptive parents for your baby. Like you, we’ve found ourselves on a path we never anticipated. If we’re honest we didn’t expect to be expanding our family through adoption, and yet here we are - excited and grateful. We believe that through all of life’s trials God has a greater and more perfect plan than we could ever imagine. And so, although we've arrived via different routes, we find ourselves together here on this beautiful road called adoption. We don’t know who you are, but we’re praying that God carries you through this difficult path and gives you perfect peace with whatever decision you choose to make.

With love,

Amy and Joel
